First Contact Physiotherapy

This service is provided by a registered health professional who is the first point of contact for patients, providing new expertise and increased capacity to general practice and providing patients with faster access to the right care.

They are qualified autonomous clinical practitioners (often Advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapists) who are able to assess, diagnose, treat and discharge a person without a medical referral where appropriate.

Hello from Gozo

A beautiful new book has been launched, telling the story of a very special character who was a cherished member of the hospice care team and the local community.

Gozo spent many years as a pet therapy dog at North Devon Hospice, visiting patients and families every week to bring happiness and smiles during the toughest times. He was beloved by all and it was sad when he died after a short illness earlier this year.

But Gozo’s owner, Paul Jewels, has worked with an incredible local illustrator to create a stunning new book, which tells the tale of this gentle Maltese dog and the difference he made to other people.

All proceeds from the book will go directly to North Devon Hospice, helping the patients and families who Gozo so loved to comfort.

Further information and details on how to purchase can be found here.
